We're Pregnant!

Well, we made a fun discovery on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving...we're expecting! We decided to make it a fun Christmas present for our families. However, we couldn't wait until Christmastime to tell everyone! The Saturday following Thanksgiving, we caved and shared the news with Eric's parents, Granny and Pawpaw. Keeping it a secret from my family proved to be difficult, but it was really important to us that we be able to see the looks on their faces when they heard the news.

We visited the doctor on December 17th, the Friday before heading to Illinois. Everything looked good; he put us at 7 weeks making the due date August 4, 2011. We used the sonogram picture to create a Christmas card for our families. It turned out great!

We shared the news with my mom on December 23rd. Then we told my dad, step-mom, my brother Jeremy and his wife Pia, and my grandma on the 24th. My oldest brother Casey and his wife Melody didn't arrive until the 27th, and we told them shortly after they got into town. Finally, we were able to tell Eric's granny & pawpaw today. We had so much fun seeing everyone's faces and their excitement at the news. This will be the first grandbaby for both of our families, so it's a very exciting time for us all! And, of course, once the family found out we were expecting, there were baby gifts all over the place! Eric & I had an interesting time trying to squeeze them all into our suitcase for the plane trip back home!
















Our next doctor's appointment is on January 19th. Be praying that things continue to go well for us! We are excited as we experience each new step of pregnancy together, and we are even more excited for this wonderful blessing God has given us!
