I've been meaning to write this post since last weekend, but it has just been one of those weeks! Last Friday we had a doctor's appointment. I was not looking forward to this appointment since my blood pressure had been up (142/94) at the last visit. I was completely convinced that he'd put me on medicine for it. However, everything looked really good! My blood pressure was 120/82, and my weight was back down 4 pounds. Yippee! He said that he's still concerned about my blood pressure, so he will be keeping an eye on it. He is concerned about pre-eclampsia as I get further on in the pregnancy. I currenly have no swelling or any other signs of it, though, so I'm not too concerned at this point. I'm scheduled to go back in 2 weeks for my 28 week check-up. He will do a gestational diabetes test, as well as other bloodwork at that appointment. From there, I start going every 2 weeks! Hard to believe we are this far along already! It seemed like it would take forever to get to this point when we first found out we were expecting, and now we just have one more trimester to go!
Last Saturday we attended our labor & delivery class. I wasn't feeling too scared about labor until they had us watch a video of a woman going through natural childbirth! If I wasn't already certain before, I am now completely certain that an epidural is the way to go! The class was really good, though. Eric was not looking forward to going, but I think he felt like it was worth it by the end. We definitely learned a lot of things that we didn't know, and I think it just helped us to feel more prepared for the day. We got to take a tour of the labor & delivery area and the post partum unit. That was extremely helpful, I think. The nurse really helped us to get a good idea of the way things will work.
Granny & Paw Paw were around our house this past weekend, as well, helping out with all sorts of things! We did some heavy duty cleaning in our bedrooms and bathrooms on Friday. Sunday was much more fun, though. :) We did some more decorating in the nursery. We put her name on the wall, hung her quilt, and hung some shelves. A couple of weeks ago, we also bought her matress, got her crib ready, and hung her curtains. It's certainly looking more and more like a nursery! Here are a few pictures Granny took while we were working!
And finally, our little alien is growing stronger by the day. Let's just say, her kicks and punches are much easier to feel! Eric was finally able to feel a couple of good kicks on Wednesday night. That was really fun! Last Friday night, I was able to feel a ,strong kick for the first time. I felt it on the inside and outside, plus I watched my tummy move. Talk about crazy. It is so exciting to be able to experience her growth in such a way. I am growing more and more anxious by the day to meet her!

love it! i am so excited for you guys!
